This time of year is filled with wonderful lighting, beautiful sunsets but most of all, vibrant and colorful leaves. Yes, we are talking about the season fall! We as wedding photographers are very fortunate to live in the city of Toronto and to be able to photograph this extraordinary seasons. As professional wedding photographers there are ups and downs that can occur in every season. Take for instance the summer. the weather is so hot and humid that your subject is literally melting in front of your lens. The groomsmen are overheating and the bridesmaids hair has frizzed up into a giant ball, and not to mention the makeup!!! Winter on the other hand, can also have its challenges. Your subjects can only be out in the cold for a short time before extremities begin to freeze and noses begin to turn bright red. Have fun retouching 1500 images!! Then we have spring… Blah,,,, ya, you may have Cherie blossoms for a week and a few flowers popping out of the ground, but you clients are constantly sneezing due to the pollen in the air…. Fall, on the other hand, is the perfect time of year to capture a wedding! You and your spouse will feel comfortable in no matter what you wear, yes, there will be some days that rain will come or the wind will strike, but overall this season is KING!
The large columns and the brilliant architecture is a key setting when shooting photos downtown Toronto at Osgood hall. With so many hidden jems within this one location, not only is the client wowed by the surroundings, but as a professional photographer we are always blown away at how creative we can get at this place. Clothing and personality also make a huge difference. The proper set of clothes make or break a photo shoot. If your wondering on what type of clothing to wear for your next engagement shoot, here are some tips to consider. 1) Wear something that your super comfortable in. Comfort is key so that when you are placed in a difficult pose at least you wont be concentrating on the difficulty and pain of that pair of pants ridding up your… you know what. With a professional shoot the photographer will ask you to sit, dip, lift, piggy back and so much more. Consider this when choosing your outfit. Also, Don’t be afraid to spend the money on cool clothes especially the ones you will love forever. 2) Personality is key… Make sure your well rested and hydrated from the night before so that you can arrive at the location a bit earlier to feel the vibe and calm your nerves and just have some time to walk around and unwind before the shoot. We as photographers find that most couples rush to a shoot causing them to stress for the first little while. Don’t do it! We want you to have a blast!! Personality also means, have fun during the shoot. Pretend the camera is not there, fall in love with yourselves and pretend its your first date and how excited you both were when you first met. This will help you relax and keep the photographer excited about whats happening. Check out this fun photo…
Check out this beautiful banquet hall we had the pleasure of attending this past weekend. Hazelton Manor is a gorgeous venue to host your next wedding. From the helpful staff to the amazing food, this place has it all. Check out the breathtaking lobby surrounded by grand fireplaces and large mirrors. Once you walk into this facility you will appreciate the attention to detail. As a professional luxury photo and video studio, we are exposed to all sorts of venues but this hall is by far one of our favorites.
Love shooting in the depth of a lush green forest. As a photographer we always aim to photograph in the shade as the images become more vibrant and the clients are less aggravated with bright light causing shadows underneath their eyes. Here is a perfect example of what can be done on a bright sunny hot day as the bride and groom are positioned in the midst of a dark romantic forest. As the photo and video team create magical images, the clients are always staying cool…
Quarum was thrilled when Today’s bride magazine contacted them to ask if the next glamorous wedding could be featured in their Toronto wedding magazine. The Sansone wedding of Ashley + Danny was held at the modern Hotel X Toronto while the ceremony was held on the rooftop overlooking the lovely Lake Ontario skyline. While hosting over 400 guests in the main ballroom, guests were blown away as they entered the room, people were left speechless while holding their phones up in front of their faces live streaming to social media accounts while taking in what was all around them. Peoples faces were priceless! The decor and flower arrangements were out of this world. As the owner of a professional wedding photo + video studio, Mark Piotrowski from Quarum was once again blown away by what this Cinderella wedding had to offer. Working hand in hand with the best industry professionals is a treat! Here are some of the companies that were involved in making this day one to remember. Gatto Flowers, Cake creations by Michelle, R5 Events, Fab Fete Michelle, Woodbridge bridal shoe shop, Canada’s Bridal Show, Dance floor graphics, Sky jewel fireworks, Makeup by shannon, and so many more that helped make this day a dream come true. Check out news stands this summer for the new Today’s bride magazine. Special thanks to Lorie Sansone for giving us this amazing opportunity once again.
Love this rustic location… When clients ask us for a unique and rustic look, we always recommend Pioneer village. Even on a hot sunny day, there are many cool shaded spots to photograph in. Ideally every image is perfected in the shade instead of the direct light. These are some of the tricks that we as professional photographers live by. Fact: did you hear that Peter and Paul’s is now the head caterer at Pioneer village? Congratulations goes out to Christina + Matteo on this beautiful wedding photo.
Part 1 of this epic love story… here’s a sneak peek of our beautiful bride Ashley Sansone. Sending our warmest congratulations to Ashley + Danny who tied the knot in a lovely ceremony at Saint Margaret Mary earlier this week. The Quarum team is looking forward to Part II this coming Saturday! Stay tuned for some of our fav pics from Saturday’s shoot and for Quarum’s 30th Anniversary Giveaway … you’ll be especially interested in catching this if you’re engaged and getting married in the next several months!
